1. Anti-seepage measures
Prevent rainwater from seeping into the metal roof panels from the outside. Rainwater mainly enters the metal roof through overlapping gaps or nodes. To achieve the function of anti-seepage, it is necessary to use a sealing gasket at the screw mouth and a hidden fixing method. The overlapping parts of the board should be treated with sealant or welding, and it is best to use a full-length board to eliminate overlapping. Waterproof treatment should be carried out tightly at various nodes.
2. Fire prevention
When a fire occurs, the metal roof material will not burn and flames will not penetrate the metal roof panels.
3. Anti wind pressure
Resist the maximum local wind pressure, and the metal roof panels will not be pulled off by negative wind pressure. The wind resistance performance is related to the fastening force between the metal roof panel and the fixed seat, as well as the density of the fixed seat.
4. Soundproofing
Prevent sound from passing from outside to inside or from inside to outside. Fill the metal roof layer with sound insulation material (usually insulation cotton), and the sound insulation effect is represented by the decibel difference in sound intensity on both sides of the metal roof layer. The sound insulation effect is related to the density and thickness of the sound insulation material. Attention should be paid to the fact that sound insulation materials have different blocking effects on sounds of different frequencies.
5. Ventilation
Indoor and outdoor air exchange. Install ventilation openings on metal roofs.
6. Moisture proof
Prevent the condensation of water vapor at the bottom and inside the metal roof layer, and drain the water vapor inside the metal roof layer. The solution is to fill insulation cotton in the metal roof layer, lay waterproof membrane on the metal roof bottom plate, and have ventilated nodes on the metal roof panel.
7. Load bearing capacity
To withstand construction loads, rainwater, dust, snow pressure, and maintenance loads. The load-bearing performance of metal roof panels is related to the cross-sectional characteristics of the panel type, the strength and thickness of the material, the force transmission method, and the spacing between purlins (secondary purlins).
8. Lightning protection
Lead lightning to the ground to prevent it from penetrating the metal roof and entering the interior.
9. Thermal insulation
To prevent heat transfer on both sides of the metal roof and stabilize indoor temperature, insulation function can be achieved by filling insulation materials (commonly used include glass wool and rock wool) under the metal roof panels.
10. Daylighting
Improving indoor lighting through skylights during the day and saving energy. When arranging skylight panels or skylight glass at specific locations on metal roofs, the service life of the skylight should be considered in coordination with the metal roof panels, and waterproof treatment should be done at the connection between the skylight and the metal roof panels.
